...is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S!

Have you heard that song from No Doubt?  It's name is Hollaback Girl and it reminds me of high school!  My nails look as fun as the song itself.  This mani was made with one of the products My Glam sent me this month.  Next week I'll be posting the review of the whole My Glam package!
The brand is from the exclusive nail color collection: Circus, by Andrea.  The name is Somersault.  I've been looking for the right yellow nail polish, but haven't find it... until now.  The color is not too bright, but you have to do at least three coats to see the real color.  The final result was perfect and everybody loves it.  I also used my favorite nail polish: Essie's Turquoise & Caicos.  I think the combination is so cute and summery.

Do you like bananas?

I like them on cereal, with yogurt and granola, with Nutella, on banana splits and one of my favorite desserts in the whole world is banana dumplings.  I tried them for the first time at PF Changs.

Here's a picture of my plate via Instagram:

Enjoy the weekend!

50 Shades of GRAY?

Gotcha! I'm not talking about the latest obsession of almost every single women in America: The #1 New York Times Best Seller "50 Shades of Grey".  Have you read it?

This post is about the amount of gray tones you can actually use on your nails.  I love how gray nail polishes look and I'm obsessed with this new color. It can be confused with purple sometimes, but I'm sure it's base is gray.  The name is Greyt Expectations and it's from the long-lasting/affordable line of L'ORÉAL Nail Color.

How many times i've used gray nail polish?
4. 50 Shades of GRAY (today's post)

Laters, baby!

First Week of Spring

Last Tuesday was the first day of Spring.  Are you excited?  I'm not.  Why?  Because Spring bring flowers, with flowers comes pollen and with pollen comes my chronic allergies.  Anyway, the colors outdoors are so beautiful to photograph and watch for hours, even the clothes and accessories are so fun and cute.  Let's talk about nail polishes.  Enough of black, blue, gray, maroon, brown and all of the dark shades that are so trendy in Fall & Winter time.  Let's have fun with colors!!!  I started with this new line called Candy from Bettina and the color is Green Apple.

Cheers for the new season!
have a great weekend,
xx

Having Fun with Mud

Not exactly, is just my nails.  My nails look like I've been playing with mud after my latest manicure and I love them!  Guess the brand and owner of this new nail polish... CORRECT! L'ORÉAL/my mother's.  She bought another two bottles of L'ORÉAL Nail Color, but this time was 2 x $10.00!  I have to try both colors and I'm starting with this subtle/creamy/matches-everything tone.  It's called Walk on the Beach.  I think this line is even better than Essie or Opi because it lasts so much longer.  If it wasn't for the nail growth I wouldn't have to change my manicure for an entire week!

Fresh Tangerine

What's your favorite fruit?  Mine is tangerine.  The smell, the sweet/sour taste, the freshness and It's even better when is cold from the fridge.  I've read in some fashion magazines that one of the color trends for this season is tangerine... I couldn't be happier about that!
Last week I was about to do my pedi/mani with one of my favorites nail polishes: Turquoise & caicos by Essie.  That's when I saw my mom's orange nails and I screamed: "WHERE IS THAT NEW NAIL POLISH?!".  The brand is L'ORÉAL and the name is L'orange 410.  I had to borrow it from her and try it.  It is one of those nail polishes that's so easy to apply because the texture is so creamy and perfect.  It is so resistant that the following pictures were taken three days after the manicure and they still look like new.

Gray looks good next to pink

Underneath that gray/pink manicure, in the picture above, is my gray/pink pajama.  Above this post is my blog's gray/pink header I like this color combo cause it really match!  This time I tried something new, but I realized I need to buy a manicure kit that has tinnier brushes to make it less difficult.  It was not easy to do that pink design with the regular brush that comes with the nail polish... Gosh you gotta have a good pulse to do it.  I screwed it like three times before the final result.

Hope you liked it!

Festive Nails

WELCOME 2012!!!
How was your weekend?

Mine was festive, just like my nails.  This Sally Hansen Nail Polish is kinda light and delicate.  Little stripes of sparkles, just perfect to put on top of any other nail polish color, but let's say I was in a hurry and only had time to apply the glitter.  The only bad thing is that you have to put two or three coats to really see some sparkles.  I like it... very simple, but also party-ish for the celebration!

So, which nail polish you wore on the
New Year's Eve?

Guest Review: Sephora Stuff

Today I'm having a guest post.  She is not a blogger, but she is my best friend since.. forever!!! Her name is Adilén, but you can call her "Ady".  Between both of us, she is the one that recommends beauty products to me.  So she went shopping to Sephora, bought a few products and I asked her to do a review/article of her new mascara and nail polish.
Here you have it!

Oh Sephora!!! They have been one of my make-up weaknesses for years. I’m always trying new products, but this time I ended up spending $19 in a Buxom Lash Blackest Black. That’s the most I’ve spent in a mascara, but I don’t totally regret it because it’s REALLY goodMy lashes look longer in seconds (and I have very small lashes), it lasts all day, and comparing with other much more expensive mascaras in Sephora this one is very big so you don’t end up paying $24 for a small tube of mascara. The downside is that it doesn’t give them much volume and for me that’s a must. My favorite mascara still is the L’Oreal Voluminous in Carbon Black and it costs almost half the price, but I’ll enjoy the Buxom while it lasts.

That day I bought a Sephora nail polish “Frankly, I don’t give A-dam” by Opi.  It was $9 and it’s the most I’ve spent in a nail polish too.  Although it’s just a grey color, the people that have seen my nails love them. The nail polish has lasted for a week which I don’t know about you girls but normally they last for like three days because they get chipped very fast.

Wanna Pepperoni?

Isn't pepperoni red? Another of the stuff I bought at H&M during the NYC visit last month (besides this bag), was  this weird-colored-nail polish named "Wanna Pepperoni".  The price was great and the color so different, so I didn't hesitate to buy it.  It is so creamy and with just one hand I was ready to go.  Now there's another way to see pepperoni.. as green nail polish! Look at how refreshing this color is:

I wanna guacamole now!

Halloween-ish Nails

Of course... they have to be black!  I may have to clear out that I don't use black nails only in Halloween, I think there's something chic and trendy about black nails, they're not only scary or Halloween-ishAnyway, today is the perfect day to wear them and  this time I tried a new nail polish that my best friend recommended: Sinful Colors.  The price was insane, only $1.99!!!  I trusted her when she told me: "hey I have a few of those and they are great!"  Well, you know what?  She was right.  It dried out so quickly and seems like it's gonna be long-lasting.  Just so you keep in mind that expensive stuff are not necessary good quality and some cheap items are not necessary bad.

Have you bought some cheap article that has resulted
into a very good item?  Name it!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN !!!

Purple Deep

Recently, I'm not buying any new nail polish, I'm just rediscovering old ones in my nail-stuff basket.  For some reason I just thought this nail polish it was kinda fall-ish.  Are you with me?  It is a deep/dark purple that I think would give a pop of color to any dark green, gray or brown outfit.  I personally love it and think is a great choice for this season!
What do you think?

Dotted Chocolate

You must be thinking... this trend-ish girl changes her nail polish like twice a week or what?  Well... yes!  I just get so fussy when they start cracking on the edges after  2 or 3 days.  I have seen lots of manicures with polka dots and I had to try it for two reasons: I like doing cute things to my nails and I LOVE polka dots!  This time I used two of my fave brands for nail polish: Bettina and Avon.  Both are so creamy and lasting.
The following steps will help you select the perfect color to polka dot your nails:

1. apply a solid color (2 hands) - I used brown this time

2. on a sheet of paper spread the nail polish you just applied (2 hands also)
and let it dry

3. select a few color you would like to use for the polka dots
to see which one is the better match and let them dry

I selected the light blue cause it was the one that gave a pop of color to the dark brown shade.

love,
Teresa

Edible Nails

No, my nails are not really edible and there's no edible nail polish either (at least that I know about), but they looked like little candies after finishing my last mani/pedi!  I used a light pink nail polish that a friend of mine gave to me as part of a birthday gift this year.  The final touch was the Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat. Next plans with my white crackle coat are black nails... zebra/safari?  We'll see,  I just love being creative with my nails!

Step 1: apply a color of your choice and let dry

Step 2: apply the overcoat (just one hand)

Gray Is Fun Too!

From light purple to yellow, peach, turquoise and even orange, I was tired of using bright colors on my nails for the whole summer.  This time I tried a more fall-ish color: soft gray.  Looking on the Essie nail polish shelf at the drugstore, I picked up the weirdest color I could possibly choose and after finishing my pedi/mani I found out how cute and fun the color was.  The color is named master plan and I'm in love.

Happy Sunday!

Water-ish

For those wondering about my nail polish on last Monday's post, I'm showing where it came from!  I remember falling in love with this color when I was at elemental school.  I'm a Pisces, so I'm a big fan of the sea, aquamarine stones and anything that looks like water.  Is not that I fully believe in this zodiacal sign thing, but I love being a Pisces girl.  I saw this nail polish on one of my shopping days at Walgreen's and couldn't left without it.  The brand is Essie and the color is turquoise & caicos.

Old, but Good

I haven't used this nail polish since 2007.  I found it days ago and thought it was a vibrant/summer-ish color, so I tried it.  It was like new!  The brand?  Who cares?  Not a popular one, but a good one.  This is a great example that sometimes, expensive things are not necessary the best ones and you can find high quality in less expensive beauty stuff.  By the way, the brand is Milani, for those who would like to try!

 Happy Wednesday!

Peaches & Cream

Looking around my mom's stuff, once again I found another Aldo nail polish!?  This time the color was similar to peach/soft coral and also perfect for summer.  I gotta say I absolutely loved it, so had to borrow it.  As I've said before, I would never thought of a good nail polish sold by Aldo, a shoe store, but this really works!
