Review: Current Make Up Favorites

Review: Current Make Up Favorites

Bloggers & readers! How are you?

Today I'm sharing my thoughts about what's in my make up bag. I decided to do this, since I feel so satisfied with my current products and I may help you discover some good stuff.

1. Lorac Blush Bronzer Duo
I wont change this one ever again. You can get the porcelain look with the pink side or the sun-kissed look with the bronzer side. If you mix them, you'll get a perfect/natural finish

2. Phytogenic Infinite Concealer Duo
I got this one at The Face Shop Store, during my last trip to N.Y. It has liquid foundation and concealer bar at the same time. I love it because it inwon't dry up that sensitive skin area, but will give you a very good coverage.

3. Volum' Express The Rocket
Voluminous & very long eyelashes. That's what you get from this one! Best one I've ever tried and mascara is the most important part of my make up kit.

4. E.L.F. Essential Eyeliner
Easy to apply, dries fast and soooo good for the cat-eye! One of my favorite things about this one is that you can make a thin line or a bold one. It all depends in the amount you apply. Oh, and it lasts all day! Oh, and it is not expensive at all.

5. Sephora Collection Cream Stain
I don't like to use lipstick and even less red. I've always preferred matte tones on my lips and this one is so intense and uniform that I can draw fuller lips and still look natural.

Would you give it a try to any of these?

Love,
Teresa

Review: Pantene Damage Detox & Deep Cleanse

Hey there!

Your hair does not enjoy your summer adventures as much as you do. Pool, sun and salty water added to the daily toxins everywhere, can cause a lot of damage to one of the most precious and notable parts of your body.

This time I'm reviewing a product I talked to you about some weeks ago [ post here ]. I've been using it for more than a month and have already seen the results.

Deep Cleanse Shampoo and Conditioner:

At first I thought it was making my hair look dull and wanted to go back to the one I tried before, but as I kept using it day by day, I discovered the damage repair was a long-term process. I noticed it was regaining strength and was definitely starting to look healthier and stronger. It felt like giving my hair a boost of proteins and vitamins with each wash.

Weekly Deep Cleanse Shampoo:

Pros, pros and more pros! This shampoo makes my hair feel so weightless and deeply clean... totally/absolutely clean. So fresh you'll wanna wash it every day, even though you can't, because this one is made to use once a week.

Weekly Rehab Cream:

I guess the Weekly Deep Cleanse Shampoo works so roughly on your hair, you have to use this intensive conditioner treatment so you don't lose shine. It's the perfect combination with the weekly shampoo!

You can take a look at my actual hair in [ this post ].

Are you ready to detox your hair this summer?

Teresa

Shopping in Italy!

There's no specific order in my Euro-trip posts.  Today I'm just sharing some stuff I bought between Ravenna and Florence, Italy.  There were a lot of stores in both cities... everything was pretty and everything was cheap enough.

 Ravenna:
I found the most cute and comfortable black purse in Ravenna at a store named Pimkie for only 11 euros!  Most of the stores were H&M look-a-likes, just so you get the idea.

There was this Italian man on the streets of Ravenna,
and we thought he was very fashionable and stylish:

 Florence:
Florence was paradise.  There was this store named Kiko, which was just like a Mac store in the USA... only cheaper.  I got two nail polishes and a gel nail polish remover for only 8 euros!!!

 Have you been smart-shopping lately?

Review: Lorac Blush/Bronzer Duo

A couple of weeks ago I was looking for a new blush.  There are two things I would never leave my house without: mascara and blush.  It is my everyday makeup, very simple.  I used to have a pinky blush from Too Faced and a matte bronzer from Rimmel London.

One day I went through my e-mail and found a great offer from Sephora: With any purchase online you get a bag filled with Sephora samples and you can choose between three options.  This was the perfect time to buy my new blush... and there it was... Pink and Bronzer, two in one!  Then brand? Lorac.  I've never try anything from Lorac, so I decided to go ahead and order.  I chose: In the Glow Kit and with the points I had in my account, I also ordered a Clinique Kit for FREE!  Not to mention other three samples you can always get when purchasing at Sephora... win!

Here's the total for my order:

And this is all I got:
[ good sample sizes and everything smells and works amazingly great! ]
[ The St. Tropez body lotion gives a beautiful soft tan to your skin
and the Bamboo Smooth Kendi Oil leaves your hair shiny and with a tropical smell. ]

 1. Okay, this blush is the best option I could've get!!!
2. Both colors are matte, with a minimum sparkly touch.
3. I actually place the brush on the center to get both colors and the result is dreamy.
 4. My face looks so natural, but alive at the same time.
5. Makes my skin look creamy and soft.
6. Long-lasting... VERY!
7. I found no cons with this product = highly recommended!

This was one of the better beauty shoppings I've done in 2012.
I don't regret anything.

Love,
Teresa

The Body Shop Launch @ Puerto Rico

For the first time ever, The Body Shop, the original, natural, and ethical beauty brand with over 2,700 stores in 63 markets worldwide, made its debut in Sears department stores Puerto Rico on October 19, 2012.  The Body Shop launched four shop-in-shop stores within Sears, whose position as a premier beauty retailer in Puerto Rico made it the ideal partner for this exciting venture.  The first four locations will opened in Plaza las Americas, Mayaguez, Ponce and Hatillo.

I was invited to the official launch, but I was sick by then and couldn't attend.  That's why they sent me a box filled with some of their amazing products:

The Favorites:
[ feet peppermint treatment and almond scent cream for hands and body = heaven! ]

 The Unexpected:
[ I'm constantly trying new facial cleansers and lately I'm into herbal teas.
Can't wait to try these, because they seem refreshing and relaxing! ]

The versatile:
[ I don't use bath crystals, but these smell so good, I had to them somehow.
Air refreshers for my car and room!  I placed a little amount inside a fabric piece and close it with a ribbon!
(will show a tutorial later). ]

Love,
Teresa

[ Ps. I hope any follower from the East Coast is fine after Hurricane Sandy.. xx ]

Youth H2O: Another beauty product you should have!

About two weeks ago I finished trying the new Age Defying Energy Shot: Youth H2O.  They sent me a box before the official launch so I could try it first and be sponsored by them.  This product launched on September 5th and it's a new alternative to look and feel younger. This is a daily caffeine free drink made with organic super-foods that adapts to your body's needs.

Today I'm sharing my experience with this drink by
letting you guys know the pros and cons I found while trying it!

Pros:
- The bottle size is cute and perfect to carry anywhere.

- I suffer from migraine and while I was drinking Youth H2O, I had none!

- More energy during the day.

- Helped me focus and concentrate.

- Actually, my face looked rested and brighter.

Cons:
  - The after-taste isn't delicious, but it is okay to drink very cold with some ice or mixed with some juice.
- Maybe it has nothing to do with the product, but I felt very hungry after drinking it.

- Heavy on an empty stomach, so accompany it with some snack or lunch.

Three simple, yet effective body grooming tips

We only have one body so it deserves to be looked after. Whilst it is fairly easy to get out of shape and let the condition of our bodies plummet on a downhill spiral, the good news is that getting our bodies back into tip top condition need not be as difficult as we think.
Take a look at the following three simple, yet effective grooming tips to achieve a body that is in top condition:

1) Cleanse the skin with oil
A really effective way to cleanse the skin is by using oil, particularly if you are over the age of 30, a time at which your skin begins to lose its natural elasticity and begin to sag. Place a tiny drop of either sunflower or almond oil onto your face, neck and eyelids and gently rub the oil in. Leave the oil to penetrate deep into the skin for a couple of minutes then remove it with a facial sponge or damp cotton wool.
Remember to pay attention to your hands and neck too. Skin in these areas is often neglected and can be a real giveaway of your age. Keep these areas moisturised and clean to reduce signs of ageing.
To achieve a body that is in tip top condition, you need to give the whole of your skin the same tender loving care you give to your face. Ensure therefore that you use oil on the whole of your body and not just your face and neck.

2) Moisturize regularly
Johnson’s Beauty body care tips will remind you of the importance of never forgetting to moisturise your skin. Whilst you should not over-moisturise your skin (this can undermine your skin’s capacity to remain taut), it’s important to moisturise the skin on your face and body daily to keep it well hydrated, soft and supple. Use a moisturiser that is specifically designed for your own personal skin type, helping you to give your natural complexion a boost.

3) Bright eyes
Our eyes, similar to our skin, can reveal a multitude of sins. Maintaining bright eyes can help us look younger, more radiant and oozing in vibrancy and optimism. One way to achieve bright eyes, even if you’ve missed out on sleep and are feeling the effects, is to apply cold milk to your eyelids with cotton wool every morning.

My Glam: September

This is one of my least favorite boxes since I got MyGlam.  The cosmetic bag is strong and elegant, but the contents inside didn't impress me as much as the past months.  One of the reasons may be that I don't get impress by small-sized products and that I don't like lip-gloss (especially pink).

Inside the box:
1. Circus Nail Polish
2. Mirabella eye-shadow
3. Jane Lip-gloss
4. MONOI Repairing split and sealer
5. London Soho New York Smudge Brush

Box highlights:
[ I ADORE hair products, so this is definitely a plus.
The smell is deliciously warm and makes my ends look shiny. ]

[ This matches my cosmetic bag because they are the same brand.
I can't stop using it.  It makes it so easy applying light to my eyes in the mornings.
Soft, big and cute! ]

[ It looks like pink, but the real color is intensely purple.
I'm not a fan of this color, but now I have the entire Circus collection! ]

Teresa

Review: New Beauty Acquisitions

The main reason to go shopping yesterday was to redeem my Victoria's Secret exclusive member  coupons: 1 free thing and $10 off any bra.  The story ended up differently as I made the mistake of walking inside Sephora.  I mean, it wasn't a whim at all cause I really needed a new blush and a face wash.  I was thinking of getting a pink-ish blush instead of the bronzer I've been using for like five years.  I also wanted to try new and bizarre brands, so I think there was no better place I rather be than Sephora, right?.  I couldn't wait to try any of these stuff, so here's the review...

Too Faced Full Bloom Ultra Flush Powder Blush (Cocoa Rose)
Pros: vintage and cute package / easy to apply / intense color / easy to carry in your purse
Cons: too small for $19 / not so easy to open / doesn't bring any brush

Soap & Glory Face Soap with Superfruit Plum
Pros: big bottle / only $16 / refreshing smell / small dots that feel so good and kind of massage your face / perfectly clean sensation
Cons: none for now.

How was the weekend?

Teresa

Every girl deserves to be surprised: My first Birchbox

I recently subscribed to Birchbox thanks to Popcorn, Pugs & Peonies.  She introduced me to this page through this blog post and I could'nt resist it, so I went for it that same day.  For $10 a month I will receive a surprise box with 4-5 beauty product samples, shipping free!  You just have to fill a questionnaire so they can personalize each box to your preferences.  I received my first box last weekend and I subscribed on January 3rd... SO QUICK!

And you may say... I don't need this!  What a waste of money!  Well, I thought the same, but when I received my first box and looked at myself in the mirror I was so damn excited.  Us girls, we love surprises and this, my dear, is a monthly surprise guarantied.

1) Juicy Couture Perfume: I'm not a fan of perfumes, I prefer body mists.
2) Zoya Nail Polish: I wanted to try this brand so bad!
3) Jouer Moisturizing Lip Gloss: Love the color.
4) VMV Hallucinogenics Re-Everything Eye Serum: So interesting!
5) Larabar Brownie: Yummy and healthy.

As you can see I'm pretty happy with everything, except the perfume.
I can't wait to show you more in the next months, stay tuned!

Isn't that package cute?
Are you willing to try?
