Cruel Summer

Hi, people!

How's Spring? Everyone's talking about how close we are to summer, but here it's been raining consecutively for four weeks = FOUR WEEKENDS. I'm desperately waiting for the sun to come out, so I can take to the beach my new swimsuit.

A tanned belly after a beach day is always a + and that's why at first I was a little resistant to this "one-piece" trend. After trying this one on, I changed my mind. They're not only bathing suits, but can also work as "onesies", with skirts or jeans. And... you know how I feel about sexy-backs!

[ I have a romance with these vintage shorts as well.
I bought them at Etsy.com ]

Which are your beach essentials?

Turning 30: 5 tips to feel good

I turned 30 on March 11.

When I was a little girl, I thought 30 year olds were old people. When I was in high school, I believed I would be married with kids when I reached 30. Here I am, taking care of my 8-year-old daughter: Lola (who's actually a dog). When you think about it, three decades are a LOT, but not enough to feel old or stranded.

If you are getting closer to this point of your life, here are some tips to feel great and cheerful about it:

1. Plan a big celebration.
Planning your birthday party will make you feel excited about it. After all, turning 30 is a big thing! In my case, I made a reservation with some friends at a local resort for a weekend full of beach, sun and frozen mojitos.

2. Ask your elderly.
When you complain about your age with elder people, they will laugh at you and will make you feel like your life is just blossoming. Sometimes we don't realize that being 30 is not even halfway the journey.

3. Take care of your skin.
If you start moisturizing your skin in your 20's, you will reach your 30's looking at the mirror and seeing a healthy and youthful face. I use eye-cream, vitamin serums and moisturizer twice a day. Oh! And don't forget to hydrate your body as well.

4. Count your blessings.
Make a list of all your achievements and happy moments until now. I've accomplished many things during my 20's, like my professional career, traveling to many of my bucket list destinations and being an independent and self-confident woman.

5. Change your look.
Changing your look will make you feel fresh and eager for this new stage.

I'm ready for what's to come!!!

Haul: COVERGIRL Newest Makeup

Hi, Trendsetters!

COVERGIRL launched a whole new makeup line which includes face, eyes and nails products.  They sent me a selection of some and today I'm sharing with you my first impression with photos and swatches. Enjoy!

truBLEND Bronzer and Blushes
Since summer is getting closer, I was looking for a glowy bronzer and this one is dazzling. "Light Rose" and "Medium Rose" will not only add a little color to your cheeks, but also work as illuminators. "Deep Mauve" is very pigmented and creamier than the lighter ones, so you'll have to be careful when applying it.

Outlast Stay Brilliant Nail Polishes
Glitter on! Beautiful neutral colors with a touch of glitter.
Smooth application and fast dry!

Oh Sugar! Vitamin Infused Balms
I don't like to wear lipstick on a daily basis, I just put on some lip-balm and we are ready to go. These beauties will moisturize your lips with vitamins, adding a hint of color. Oh! and the smell is between sugar and orange!!!

truNAKED Eyeshadow Palettes

Roses: Some are matte, some are glowy.  Lovely colors.
They are a little powdery, but with a wet brush and a good blending, they will look flawless!

Nudes: I love nudes and some colors on this palette reminded me of the Urban Decay Naked palette. The darkest one is the perfect tone for a stunning smokey eye.

truNAKED Waterproof Eyeliner Duos
Hello, eye-liner lovers! Waterproof intense colors, with really good pigmentation!

truBLEND Primer (For Oily Skin)
I have combination skin, so this will be a pro for my T-zone. The only con is the smell, but the package is great and feels very velvety.

Plumpify Mascara
I'm not a fan of thick mascara brushes, but this one really plumps my lashes and I really like that is silicon, instead of a regular brush.

So there you have it!
Which one(s) would you like to try?

Utopia

Hello, people!

Things I can't stop wearing lately: choker necklaces and off-the-shoulder tops. Who would've thought I'll go back to a very 90's style! At the end, I grew up during that decade, so guess who's excited about the Full House comeback on Netflix? That's right, me!

Trends are like feelings, they come and go.

I'd like to present to you my baby girl: Lola
She's a rescued piece of sweet heaven and unconditional love.

I will leave it all behind (Where we belong, where we belong)
You and I was locked in time (Where we belong, utopia)
You long me on cold, dark nights (Where we belong, where we belong)
Far from home we left our right (Where we belong, utopia).

BFF means something else!

We all know that BFF stands for Best Friends Forever, but the new BFF is for Bubbles, Food and Fashion! This fantastic event took place last Tuesday at Sophie's At Saks San Juan.

Bubbles, Food and Fashion consists in having a three-course lunch by Chef Ivonne Martínez, accompanied by a glass of Veuve Clicquot, while Laura Font, Marketing Manager of Saks Fifth Avenue San Juan, talks about the upcoming trends of the season. We left with the Saks Fall 2015 Magalog, which is a pretty thick catalog with extra inspiration about all the collections that Saks offers.

 Can this be anymore perfect?
I leave you with some pictures that speak for themselves!

Blacked out

"Women who wear black lead colorful lives."
- Neimen Marcus

Hi everybody and hello September!

Finally, my favorite season is around the corner: Fall!  Perfect time to bear less colorful fabrics, darker nail polishes and dramatic make-up. Today I'm sharing some sets inspired in the "all-black" trend, which teams up so well with the upcoming seasons (Fall and Winter).

If I could, I would fill my wardrobe with white & black pieces only. But I live in the Caribbean and vibrant colors harmonize with palms, coconuts and pineapples.

When it comes to the style world, black is my happy place. It allows me to see life in color. Why? I feel cozy, sexy, comfy, and free at the same time! I created these all-black looks having in mind our warm weather and kind of lifestyle in Puerto Rico.

Oh! And this trend is also very appealing for men. There's nothing sexier in the world than a man rocking a black tie, black top, black blazer, black pants, black socks, black shoes and black anything. Take note, guys!

Times like these

Hi everybody!

It was a sunny Sunday, so I decided to start the day with a good breakfast and then go to the most historical corner of Puerto Rico. Today I'm going to take you on a walk around Old San Juan! Every time I visit this place my heart gets warmer and I learn to love my country a little more.

Let's go!

My outfit is very casual and comfortable. I'm only wearing my necessary accessories: sunglasses and watch. I'm really loving my new JORD watch, because it gives all of my outfits that boho-chic-summer-approved style. They have plenty of women's and men's wooden watches. They're beautiful!

This frozen drink is called "Piragua".
My favorite flavor? "Frambuesa" = raspberry.

So, what do you like to do on a sunny Sunday?
