Coffee = Café = Caffé = Kebi = Love

Coffee is an essential beverage in my life.

I don't need a big breakfast with energy drink and a yoga session to wake up in the mornings.
I just need a rich/dark/hot/big/foamy cup of coffee

Symptoms of a morning without coffee:
1. Eyes only reach 70% of open.
2. Talking and walking like a zombie.
3. Aggressive behavior.
4. Lack of creativity and/or motivation at work.
5. Sore muscles.
6. Not thinking properly.***
***Reason why I choose my outfit the night before***

You could say I'm just a caffeine addict, but it's more than that. It's romance. The sound of the coffee machine, the smell, the way black and white mix together and turns brown (milk and coffee)... it's art for me. It's morning therapy... it's comfort food... it's love.

My favorite? Capuccino.
If there's no Capuccino? Latte.

Do you like coffee?
Which is your favorite?

New York City Way

New York Visit 2013

This is the 4th year in a row in which I take some days to visit the enchanting streets of NYC. Every year I feel the urge to visit my second home, at least for a weekend, and that's exactly what I'll do next month!

I don't even feel like a tourist anymore, I feel like a resident that comes a goes (sadly). That's why my style for the cold weather in the city is very different from the one I used to wear four years ago... very different.

This is one of the outfits I'll be wearing, but I haven't decided if it'll look better at day or night.

What do you think?

It's been a while...

Hola!!!

5 months ago I thought it was time for me to stop blogging. I got a new job as Social Media, in which I spend 8 hours a day writing strategic content for specific clients. I was not that excited anymore about writing for my personal blog because I was already doing something I like and I needed a break from the computer during my free time. Also, the fact that weeks before that, I accidentally erased all my pictures from Blogger and lost 90% of content from a two-year-old blog was overwhelming.

So I automatically stopped blogging.

But... I can't deal with unfinished business

I enjoy writing as much as I enjoy eating Nutella. That's why I decided to come back and make a fresh start. Yes, you'll still read articles about style and beauty, but maybe you'll see more about LIFE

Experiences, music, food, yoga, adventures or simply... coffee.

I hope you enjoy it.

xx,
Teresa

Ps. Can't wait to get in contact with the fashion gurus and friends I once made here.

Stay tuned:

Review: L'OREAL Ombre

Approximately two weeks ago I made a post about the possibility of buying and trying the Les Ombrés by L'OREAL Preference.  I got news: IT'S FINALLY DONE!  I tried to wait until the end of month, but just couldn't. Here's the review:

Pros
1. Everything you need is inside the box.
2. The little brush makes it easy to apply.
3. You can do it by yourself, no help needed.
4. The results are very similar to the one showed in the box
(it all depends on your hair color base).
5. The shampoo-conditioner inside the box it's perfect for your damaged hair.

Cons:
1. Strong smell.
2. The instructions are not very clear.
3. Sometimes the substance gets stuck in the finest part of the lid.

To be honest, this wasn't the color I was looking for, but since my base color is dark mahogany brown, it turned out ginger-ish.  At first I was a little disappointed, but since the mixture has bleach, the color is getting lighter and blonder every time I wash it.  I have to say that this product really works, it's easy to use (once you really get the complicated instructions) and leaves your hair looking healthy and shiny (unlike other bleach products).

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Trend-ish. icon of May: Kendall Jenner

The Kardashian sisters are inspirational style icons.  Previously, I reviewed my favorite Kardashian: Kourtney.  Today I'll be talking about Kendall Jenner, one of the younger sisters.  I follow her Instagram profile and I have to admit that this girls is as gorgeous as a Victoria's Secret angel!  Kendall Nicole Jenner's style is quite unique and even though she looks like a grown-up woman with a defined taste in fashion, she is only 17 years old.  At her short age, she is already a business girl together with  her sister Kylie Jenner.  They both recently launched a line of clothing selled by PacsunKendall's style is fun, trendy, chic, a little wild and so appropriate for her age.  That's why she's the perfect Trend-ish. icon for this month!

Home-made "ombre"?!

Hi guys!!!

About a year ago I read the word "ombre" in fashion magazines for the first time. They used it for pants, tops, nails and even hair!  That's when I started my research to discover it's meaning was just combining two colors and making them look like they are both melting together in the middleThe first ombre thing I had was a pair of tights (see below), melting together blue with gray.

My new curiosity is trying the ombre trend on my hair.  I think this is a very scary/risky/daring adventure, but I'm suddenly tired and bored of my hairstyle.   As many of you know, I've been using a dark-reddish brown color in my hair for months and I need a change.  L'oreal launched the new: Les Ombrés by Préférence (see below).  I've been thinking about buying the Ombré N.1, which is the darkest one.

My hair is short/medium right now,
so the final look I'm expecting is something like this one:

I have mixed feelings, since I'm so excited and terrified at the same time.  My plans are to wear this look for summer, so I'll put this plan in action by the end of May and, of course, will make a post about my experience.

MaruMaru Design: A dream in the making

One of Maru's creations

Maru is a simple girl living in the Caribbean and having big dreams.
One of her biggest dreams is to become a popular fashion designer.
Wanna know her story?

1. What is your role in the fashion field at this moment?
Well, right now I'm experimenting with materials, fabrics, silhouettes, in the matching game, because I'm still studying.

Maru
2. At what age arouses your passion for designing clothes?
The truth is that, I've always loved art.  When I was 5-year-old I always carried a sketchbook where I used to make drawings.  My passion for fashion design aroused when I was approximately 11.  My first design was my Sweet 16 gown.

3. What do you like most about your profession?
Many things, from then illustration, experimentation of materials, and the ending result. I just enjoy it so much.  Some people may think fashion is superficial, but the knowledge you acquire is so rich.  I love studying my customers and see what their needs are. Runways are also very interesting, the backstage rush, meeting celebrities and working for them. Everything related to fashion is my passion.

                                                                     4. What are your current and future challenges?
MaruMaru Design
Right now I'm focusing on finishing my grade and having my diploma.  The profession I chose is very challenging because of all the competition and criticism.  You have to see who is in the lead and find a way to stand out above all.  In the future, my biggest challenge will be having a satisfied customer and see them wearing my creations.

5. What is your dream once you finish your studies and devote full time to this world?
At first I wanted to direct the production of theatrical costumes. It is a field that not many people are dedicated to and I would like to experience. But recently, I've come to the conclusion that my goal is to dress entertainers for their performances, everything from theater, dance and cinema.

6. What advice would you give to all young people who aspire to the same as you?
DO NOT QUIT!   It's not easy, but not impossible.  Educate yourself and read constantly about fashion.  Don't be conformist, try always your best!  Follow your dreams, do what you like and enjoy your career.

Guest Post: Royal Runways of Today

Queen Isabel the Catholic, formally known as Isabel I of Castille, is considered to be one of the most powerful female leaders in history. Through her vision, strength and determination, Isabel was able to unify the Spanish kingdom which became a dominant world power. Among many other achievements in her reign, one of the most recognizable is the exploration of the Americas. This important era, known as the Golden Age, is not only historically significant, but continues to be an inspiration for today's fashion.

Isabel
The gorgeous Spanish actress Michelle Jenner plays young Queen Isabel in the hit series Isabel. The costume design of this award-winning telenovela portrays the period's fashion with elegant detail and accuracy. This display of period clothing shows how these trends have inspired many of today's top fashion designers such as Alexander McQueen and Dolce & Gabanna.

Crowns
Royal fashion of the time exemplifies the luxury, power, and wealth of the monarchs while always keeping a touch of regal delicacy. Most outfits were adorned in all types of riches like jewels, pearls, and gold, usually embroidered in exotic velvets and rich silks. Although these fashion trends are often not affordable or even practical, they continue to evoke memories of extreme luxury and pure decadence.

Gold
The evocative nature of period based clothing has led today's top fashion designers to revisit these trends on the runway. A great example are the Valentino cloaks on his Spring 2013 Couture Collection. Dresses with embroidery and applications were a must in court and are making their comeback today. In many of their recent collections, Dolce & Gabbana and Elie Saab have worked to be part of the Royal Trend.

Capes
Alexander McQueen is a great example of a designer who has worked this trend of the past while keeping his futuristic vision and style. His 2013 Fall Collection is being dubbed by some as the Royal Catholic Collection. McQueen's vision of glory, his sensitivity to history, and imagination is nothing short from brilliance as it emphasizes the leadership of the feminine spirit. It is important to notice the exquisite work on the complex embroidery and detailed beading.

McQueen
To remember the inspirational Queen Isabel I of Castile and other powerful female leaders, it is important to recognize them for the trendsetters they were and admire the collections by Dolce & Gabanna, McQueen and others. In case you're also interested in following this great series that keeps an eye for fashion, or if you are a big fan of telenovelas like I am, I'd recommend you try this one!

Sad news...

Hi everybody!!!

My heart aches to tell you this, but I accidentally deleted all the pictures from my blog for the past three years.  I was just going through my cellphone pictures and found a folder with like 900 pictures from Trend-ish., so I thought about erasing them from my phone, without noticing they were linked directly to my blog.

I just can't accept this happened, but my brother (who is studying computer science), tried his best to recover them, but nothing works.  My last option is contacting blogger.com to see if they can help me solve this nightmare.

I'll let you know about anything!

Love,
Teresa

Trend-ish icon of March: Jennifer Aniston

Classy, simple, girl-next-door, elegant and neutral are just a few words to describe Jennifer Aniston's style.  She has nothing to do with extravagance, which makes her look good almost all the time.  Jennifer is a petite woman with little curves, but her style is so easy to wear for any type of body.  This California girl looks so sexy and cute all the time, doesn't matter how many years pass.  Her hair and clothing are always so neat and clean. Jennifer really knows how to rock her beach looks with wavy hair and everyday outfits when photographed in her "street styles" and knows how to look like a star in red carpets.  She makes true honor to her Hollywood nickname: "The American Sweetheart".  Lovely style, lovely personality and lovely movies she always does!  She reminds me of Spring season and that's why Jennifer is the perfect Trend-ish icon for this month!
