Another MONTH Behind

Wake me up, when September ends..   Oh, is it over?!
September was kinda bad luck-ish to me, so I have big expectations with October!  I have a weekend getaway booked at... you guess it, NYC!!!  Plus, I'm attending the Puerto Rico High Fashion Week tomorrow (October 1st).  So you tell me, does October sounds great or what?  So ready for this Fall!!!

Tights Inspiration

For me tights are elegant, mysterious and classy.  I would wear them all the time with cute long blouses, sweater dresses, ripped shorts or sequin minis.  But as I've mentioned before, I live in the Caribbean, where 95% of the year feels like summer SO HOT.
My goal is to take mine out one of these Fall or Winter nights!

Outfit: First Days of Fall

Since Fall officially started, I decided to use some leggins this weekend.  The real reason was because the little white dress I planned to use was a see-trough one (didn't noticed that when I bought it).  I guess that's the risk you take when you don't like to try clothing at stores.  I think the dress was a bit long for leggins, but I felt very comfortable and was excited to use my new heeled oxfords!  I love wearing white pieces, but later that night I magically let some red drink fall on my white dress! Still mad about that...
Sorry for the low-quality shots, I was on a rush!

Another Week Behind

This week was nice. I need to get on track with my thesis, which I started last weekend and is gonna steal most of my time for the next couple of months.  This weekend I have a few activities planned like a friend's 25th birthday and some good movies at the theater, so I gotta distribute my time well and make sure to take lots of pictures.

I Just Love This Movie...

“A man will never love you or treat you as well as a store.  If a man doesn’t fit, you can’t exchange him seven days later for a gorgeous cashmere sweater.  And a store always smells good.  A store can awaken a lust for things you never even knew you needed.  And when your fingers grasp those shiny new bags…oh yes….oh YES….oh no.  I spent $900?”

Dotted Chocolate

You must be thinking... this trend-ish girl changes her nail polish like twice a week or what?  Well... yes!  I just get so fussy when they start cracking on the edges after  2 or 3 days.  I have seen lots of manicures with polka dots and I had to try it for two reasons: I like doing cute things to my nails and I LOVE polka dots!  This time I used two of my fave brands for nail polish: Bettina and Avon.  Both are so creamy and lasting.
The following steps will help you select the perfect color to polka dot your nails:

1. apply a solid color (2 hands) - I used brown this time

2. on a sheet of paper spread the nail polish you just applied (2 hands also)
and let it dry

3. select a few color you would like to use for the polka dots
to see which one is the better match and let them dry

I selected the light blue cause it was the one that gave a pop of color to the dark brown shade.

Emmy Awards: Seductive Red

The red carpet wasn't the only red thing in this Emmys edition, the dresses too!  Last Sunday I watched the pre-show live from L.A. at E!  and was amazed by the amount of red outfitsRed is the trend, but only confident girls can wear it, cause you will be the center of attention with such a sexy and brilliant color.  There were also black, white, a LOT of sequin and some lace dresses.  As always, I'm sharing my favorite looks from the night in order of preference... here we go!

DIY: Let Your Ankles Show

I was shopping the other day and looking for some cuffed jeans. I quickly thought... WHY do I have to buy them if I can make them myself?  So I went to my closet and picked one of my favorite jeans.  You just have to fold three times at the bottom and... voila!  You'll make your look more casual and trashy.

Another Week Behind

This week could have been better if I were able to see my boyfriend last Tuesday (our 4 year anniversary) and I haven't had so many nightmares that woke me up in the middle of the night.. disturbing.  The thing is that the week could have been worst too, so I'm just gonna chill for the weekend and spent all the time that I can with my boy!

WEEKEND FASHION CRAVING...

a new lipstick.
My lips are thin and I DON'T use lipstick, just lip-gloss.
I want to try either an orange or a pale one to see how I feel with it.

Edible Nails

No, my nails are not really edible and there's no edible nail polish either (at least that I know about), but they looked like little candies after finishing my last mani/pedi!  I used a light pink nail polish that a friend of mine gave to me as part of a birthday gift this year.  The final touch was the Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat. Next plans with my white crackle coat are black nails... zebra/safari?  We'll see,  I just love being creative with my nails!

Step 1: apply a color of your choice and let dry

Step 2: apply the overcoat (just one hand)

Fashion's Night Out Inspiration

Night Out Inspiration

Three rules this season: 1)sequin 2)dark red/maroon 3)heeled booties/oxfords. I was inspired by the current trends this time and love my final combo. Red pants is something I don't usually wear, but looks so different and cute here. Red tones and sparkles are very eye-catching, so you gotta be careful with your makeup and use it very light. For example, some pale lips, dark mascara and eye liner are enough.

DIY: Boho Braids

This weekend I finally learned how to do the french braid after spending almost my whole life trying it!  How?  The same way I learned to run bicycle, to skate, to swim and to belly dance: by myself.  I'm sharing a little tutorial to do braids all over your hair for a boho-chic look.

1. you will need two hair clips, two bobby pins and a hair rubber band
2. brush your hair and let it down
3. pick a little amount of hair from the front and start a simple braid
4. continue the braid by randomly picking other parts of your hair as you do it

 5. hold the first braid with the hair clip
6. do the exact same thing on the other side
7. pull your hair to one side and start doing a simple braid with it
8. put the hair rubber band to hold the whole thing

Final touch
Replace the hair clips with the bobby pins,
add some big earrings and you are ready to go!
It's okay if some parts are messy, that's part of the look.

Hope you liked it!

Bruno Mars Concert: Style, Music and a Cute Smile :)

Every Thursday I prepare my "Another Week Behind" post, but this week I couldn't cause I was at Bruno Mars, Doo-Wops & Hooligans LIVE!!!  I apologize for not posting yesterday, but today I'm sharing some of the pictures I took at the concert.  I was surprised with a few performances and the overall show was over expectations.  I used to love Bruno, but now I'm IN LOVE with him!  Not only he is a singer, but also a dancer, musician and STYLISH man.
