BFF means something else!

We all know that BFF stands for Best Friends Forever, but the new BFF is for Bubbles, Food and Fashion! This fantastic event took place last Tuesday at Sophie's At Saks San Juan.

Bubbles, Food and Fashion consists in having a three-course lunch by Chef Ivonne Martínez, accompanied by a glass of Veuve Clicquot, while Laura Font, Marketing Manager of Saks Fifth Avenue San Juan, talks about the upcoming trends of the season. We left with the Saks Fall 2015 Magalog, which is a pretty thick catalog with extra inspiration about all the collections that Saks offers.

 Can this be anymore perfect?
I leave you with some pictures that speak for themselves!

Blacked out

"Women who wear black lead colorful lives."
- Neimen Marcus

Hi everybody and hello September!

Finally, my favorite season is around the corner: Fall!  Perfect time to bear less colorful fabrics, darker nail polishes and dramatic make-up. Today I'm sharing some sets inspired in the "all-black" trend, which teams up so well with the upcoming seasons (Fall and Winter).

If I could, I would fill my wardrobe with white & black pieces only. But I live in the Caribbean and vibrant colors harmonize with palms, coconuts and pineapples.

When it comes to the style world, black is my happy place. It allows me to see life in color. Why? I feel cozy, sexy, comfy, and free at the same time! I created these all-black looks having in mind our warm weather and kind of lifestyle in Puerto Rico.

Oh! And this trend is also very appealing for men. There's nothing sexier in the world than a man rocking a black tie, black top, black blazer, black pants, black socks, black shoes and black anything. Take note, guys!

In your style world,
which color is your happy place?

Until next post!

Times like these

Hi everybody!

It was a sunny Sunday, so I decided to start the day with a good breakfast and then go to the most historical corner of Puerto Rico. Today I'm going to take you on a walk around Old San Juan! Every time I visit this place my heart gets warmer and I learn to love my country a little more.

Let's go!

My outfit is very casual and comfortable. I'm only wearing my necessary accessories: sunglasses and watch. I'm really loving my new JORD watch, because it gives all of my outfits that boho-chic-summer-approved style. They have plenty of women's and men's wooden watches. They're beautiful!

This frozen drink is called "Piragua".
My favorite flavor? "Frambuesa" = raspberry.

So, what do you like to do on a sunny Sunday?

No stress!

Hi, people!

Today I'm sharing my top three techniques to chill every time I feel overwhelmed. I hope to give you some ideas to incorporate in your relaxation methods!

Technique #1: Yoga
I've been practicing basic yoga for a while. It helps me channel my stress, but also stretches my body before and after a long day at the office. My favorite poses are Downward Dog, Cobra, and recently, I can't stop doing the Crow pose (see below).

Do you want to try it?

Tip: Yoga could be a little dangerous, so I recommend you attend a few classes before making your own routine.

Tip: Once you stop taking classes, you can find tons of awesome and targeted routines on YouTube.

Technique #2: A glass of wine
"Wine is bottled poetry"
-Robert Louis Stevenson

I typically like white wine, especially Pinot Grigio. But since it's summer, I like to have a glass of Barefoot Refresh. It tastes delicious and can be served with ice.

Technique #3: Blogs and Pinterest
In my opinion, inspiration is the opposite to depression. How do I get inspired? Besides reading lifestyle and fashion blogs, I enjoy reading about cooking, make-up/beauty care, advertising and travel. If I feel too lazy to read or have a horrible headache, I reach out to Pinterest, where I can get inspired by the same subjects, but just by looking at gorgeous photos.

Netflix, playing with my dog, going to the beach and having a good
conversation are also great stress relievers for me.

How do you relax?

Haul: Summer Edition

Hi there!

My life is all about feeling sheer and fresh this summer. As you may know, summer days in Puerto Rico are as hot and sticky as... "feels like 95°". All you need is as least make-up as possible, fresh-smelling products and awesome sunglasses!

Today I'm sharing some of my summer favorites, recently bought and currently adoring. So take a look at my table, pick the one/ones you would like to try and read my review below.

1. Hair
(Un)done hair is my thing since I chopped my hair some weeks ago. Bye, bye heat! I just wash my hair and let it air-dry all the time. I have wavy hair, but when I want a little more texture I just spray a small amount of sea-salt spray and build deeper waves with my fingers.

Have you ever washed your hair and then can't stop smelling it every time you have a chance? I've been using Garnier Fructis products for years because I'm in love with their fruity smell. But then I discovered Herbal Essences new line and specifically fell for the fresh smell of this one, which literally makes my hair feel extremely clean and soft after each wash.

2. Accessory
I you follow me since I started my blog, back in 2011, you must already know I have a serious addiction with sunnies. I change them almost every day, depending on my outfit. I recently discovered this page, where the average price is $10 and you have free shipping. It was like discovering HEAVEN to me!

3. Skin care
Chia Seeds Moisture-holding Seed Cream

One of my favorite stores in New York City is The Face Shop. Every single time I visit, I stop by and buy some of their amazing face soaps and magical face masks. There was an extra item in my shopping bag last time I visited, on May. This moisturizer seemed perfect for summer, since it's not greasy. Your skin feels fresh and hydrated at the same time. You can also find it in Amazon.com!

4. Make-up
Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles

I can go anywhere without any makeup, except for the eye-concealer. My favorite drugstore brand is Maybeline and my favorite concealer: Fit Me. But, after watching a few tutorials on YouTube, I noticed that a lot of vloggers like this one so much. They were right! Good coverage and variety of colors for all skin types.

5. Plant
Say hello to my new/alive thing: Chloe.

Last, but not least!
Gillette Venus Swirl Razor

I like to wear skirts all the time during summer. Also, I live close to the sea, so I need to shave constantly! This baby leaves no irritation when used with the shaving cream and it's so friendly to use because of the FLEXIBALL, that contours over curves for flawless skin.

Tell me about your summer favorites!

Summer Seeds

Hello, everybody!!!

So I wanted to try and make the Chia Seed Pudding, since I'm digging the cooking thing lately.
The result was flawless!

What I love most about this recipe is that it requires just a few ingredients and you can make tons of versions, depending on the fruits and flavors you choose.

You'll need:
1 1/2 cup of almond milk
1/3 cup of chia seeds
a tablespoon of honey
green grapes or any other fruit

Mix it all together, cover with a lid, shake well and let it rest in the fridge for an hour.

After one hour, it will look something like this:

Shake it again and let it rest in the fridge for another four hours.

You can enjoy it as breakfast, snack or even as dessert
It's perfect for summer because it is refreshing and good for your health

Sweet, but healthy morning treats!

Hi everybody!

Today is Memorial Day and I'm out of the office. I went to a beautiful beach yesterday, called Mar Chiquita, which is like one hour away from home. I had some ups and downs with my car in the afternoon, so I woke up feeling very tired today. I decided to stay in and make a fancy/healthy breakfast

I'm sharing the recipes in case you want to try them:

Almond butter and banana shake, to boost your energy.

You'll need:
1. Almond butter (two tablespoons)
2. Banana (half)
3. Brown sugar (1 teaspoon)
4. Ice (1/2 cup)
5. Almond milk (1 cup)

Blend until creamy/smooth, serve and ENJOY!

"Papaya" with salt and lemon, if you have swollen face or puffy eyes.
Professionals recommend to eat papaya as an anti-inflammatory and as a digestive aid!
Just squeeze some lemon juice and sprinkle a little sea-salt on top!

Hope you're having a wonderful #MemorialWeekend!
