Basically Basics

Coco Chanel once said: "before leaving the house,
a lady should look in the mirror and remove one accessory."

Do you carry out this practice? I do. I'm a firm believer that less is more.

Today's outfit post describes perfectly my signature style, with my three favorite colors to wear: black & white + golden accessories. Not to mention this kind of clothing makes me look older and that, in my case, is flattering. When I wear short skater skirts (which I adore), people think I'm 15 years old (which I hate). But since everything has it's pros and cons, when I wore this look it was soooooo hot outside. So much, I was thinking about going back to my apartment and change into my 15-year-old-skater-skirt. Such is live.

To end this story, I have to admit that before leaving home I removed the necklace and was the best decision I could possibly make to achieve that minimalist look
Thank you, Chanel!

Are you minimalist or bold?

DIY: Transform your shorts!

Once upon a time, there was a random summer Sunday in which I found myself with free time to do whatever I wanted.  I felt the need to bring out my creativity, as I used to do when I was little and had no responsibilities.  That's when I looked inside my closet in search of an ugly item to transform into a hot summer trend.  And there it was... a pair of not-so-high-waist denim shorts from Forever 21 that needed a fun injection.  Let's tie dye and rip the hell out of them!

Original Shorts:

1. Put them on and make a line where you want to cut them:

2. Start cutting until you are satisfied.
Keep trying them on, so you are sure of the limits:

3.  Take the tweezers and pull the little white threads, each one of them.
Don't rip them, just pull as much as you can:

4. Put your gloves on.  Mix water and bleach inside the big bowl.
Place the bottom of the shorts inside and wait.
After 10 minutes, turn them over and wait 10 more minutes:

5. Hang them in the sun for 1 hour and they'll become even more bleached:

6. Throw them in the washing machine, dry them and they'll be ready to use!  You can add some studs to one of the back pockets.  I'll show you later how to!

DIY: Let Your Ankles Show

I was shopping the other day and looking for some cuffed jeans. I quickly thought... WHY do I have to buy them if I can make them myself?  So I went to my closet and picked one of my favorite jeans.  You just have to fold three times at the bottom and... voila!  You'll make your look more casual and trashy.
