Another Week Behind

Yesterday started the Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián.  It is a local traditional party in the streets of Old San Juan and that's how we officially end the Christmas in Puerto Rico... to learn more [click here].  I always attend and have a blast with my friends buying handicrafts and dancing to the bit of our cultural rhythm, but this year I think I'm skipping it to go to the beach with my boyfriend.  We need sun, sand and water.  This weekend is packed with exciting things, since I'm having a makeover tomorrow and I already have my popcorn ready for the Golden Globe Awards next Sunday.  Aahhh TGIF!!!

COMMENT ON MY BLOG:

The PvdH Journal
"I hate indoor pics as well! :-S Which is why I appreciate it even more that you took the time to show us! I very very much love those sleeves- delicate and lovely details."

Why this comment?
It's nice to know my readers appreciate my effort and understand the low quality of pictures taken at night.  I'm just extremely perfectionist.

Can't wait to see this movie!

Gray looks good next to pink

Underneath that gray/pink manicure, in the picture above, is my gray/pink pajama.  Above this post is my blog's gray/pink header I like this color combo cause it really match!  This time I tried something new, but I realized I need to buy a manicure kit that has tinnier brushes to make it less difficult.  It was not easy to do that pink design with the regular brush that comes with the nail polish... Gosh you gotta have a good pulse to do it.  I screwed it like three times before the final result.

Hope you liked it!

Outfit: Date Night

I went shopping on Saturday to find a cute dress for the date I was having with my boyfriend that night.  But when I saw this blouse I had to buy it.  It was so comfortable and the delicate lace sleeves were so unique, I just couldn't resist it. I haven't bought a black top since so long... this was the right occasion.  I also wore some Christmas gifts for the first time!  I HATE indoor pictures, but didn't have any more option, since it was like 9:00 p.m.

HAPPY THREE KING DAY !

[ image via GoogleImages ]

If you are celebrating today, hope you have an amazing Three King Day
For those who don't know what this celebration is about, Three King Day is mainly celebrated in Spain, Mexico and Puerto Rico and is also known as Epiphany.  It takes place every year on January 6 and it is very special for kids as they receive gifts under the Christmas tree, very similar to Christmas Day.  Instead of leaving cookies and milk for Santa, they leave grass and water for the camels.  It is also a Christian celebration, as the Three Kings visited Jesus when he was born and gave him birth gifts.

Everything is closed today, so I'm spending the day with my family.  Tomorrow I'm going shopping and hopefully on Sunday I'll go to the beach.  Yeah, the beach.  We don't have winter in Puerto Rico.  I said hopefully cause I'm so lazy to get up from my bed on Sundays, but one of my resolutions for this new year is to have more contact with nature!

What are you doing the first weekend of 2012???

love,
Teresa

Trend-ish. Icon of January: Sarah Jessica Parker

I was thinking... January icon for my blog?  Hmmm... should be a very important celebrity cause it will be the very first icon of 2012.   So the moment has come.  One of my biggest inspirations is Sarah Jessica Parker/Carrie, or whatever you want to call her. There's something really special about her personality and style that makes her unique.

Here's what I think...  Sarah Jessica Parker = Carrie Bradshaw.  Have you seen New Year's Eve?  Her character: "Kim" reminded me so much of Carrie.  And who doesn't love Carrie?  I mean, one of the things I love most about her is that she will act the same in all the movies and T.V. shows, because she really is that sensitive, fashion and unique in real life, not only in Sex & the City.

What about her street style?  Wow, she always look good, even out of the red carpet or set!  It is unbelievable, I haven't seen a celebrity who knows best what to wear to go out on a regular day.  And if for some reason you stare at her and say: what the heck is she wearing? Well that's the fact... she has what is called STYLE.  For that and many more reasons... Carrie Sarah is the perfect Trend-ish. icon for January!

Festive Nails

WELCOME 2012!!!
How was your weekend?

Mine was festive, just like my nails.  This Sally Hansen Nail Polish is kinda light and delicate.  Little stripes of sparkles, just perfect to put on top of any other nail polish color, but let's say I was in a hurry and only had time to apply the glitter.  The only bad thing is that you have to put two or three coats to really see some sparkles.  I like it... very simple, but also party-ish for the celebration!

So, which nail polish you wore on the
New Year's Eve?
