Summer-ish Hairstyles

Last summer I wore a lot of air-dry-long-hair and a little braid on one side.  This summer, since my hair is chopped to my shoulders and have new bangs, I've been wearing a high bun the whole time.  It is a very appropriate look, since the heat is pretty high and it looks elegant or casual, doesn't matter the occasion.  I want to share some hairstyles that are summer-proved and will make you look casual and stylish at the same time.  I do highly recommend to try the bangs because now that I have mine, I could not live without them.  Bangs makes the job so much easier and they make your face look softer and framed.

1. The high bun
[My signature look this summer]
You can try between the completely clean one or the messy one. You will free and fresh.
With so many outdoor activities, you won't have to keep your hair "under control".

Me with the look:

2. Beach waves.
If you have natural waves, lucky you!  Just leave them air dry and put some anti-frizz on.
If you have straight hair, try the three-barrel curler (will show you a video-tutorial soon).

3. Fishtail braid.
Day or night.  This will look great in any moment.
Plus the boho-look is so in right now.

4. The bandana.
You can chose between the handkerchief or simply the bandeau headband.
Wear it with any of hairstyles #1, #2 or #3.

Hope you all have an amazing weekend!
My plans are to spend it by the pool,
under the sun and inside a bikini.

DIY: Boho Braids

This weekend I finally learned how to do the french braid after spending almost my whole life trying it!  How?  The same way I learned to run bicycle, to skate, to swim and to belly dance: by myself.  I'm sharing a little tutorial to do braids all over your hair for a boho-chic look.

1. you will need two hair clips, two bobby pins and a hair rubber band
2. brush your hair and let it down
3. pick a little amount of hair from the front and start a simple braid
4. continue the braid by randomly picking other parts of your hair as you do it

 5. hold the first braid with the hair clip
6. do the exact same thing on the other side
7. pull your hair to one side and start doing a simple braid with it
8. put the hair rubber band to hold the whole thing

Final touch
Replace the hair clips with the bobby pins,
add some big earrings and you are ready to go!
It's okay if some parts are messy, that's part of the look.

Hope you liked it!
xx

Boho-Chic

I'm sure you already know that my style is bohemian/natural/vintage/simple and my current addiction is the little side braid on my hair.  Remember [ this ] post?  Well, I haven't used the blower or flat iron to go out for a long time and I feel totally fresh and confident with my natural hair.  Adding the little braid feels like I'm paying attention to my hair, even when I really don't.

I saw Friends with Benefits this weekend and I LOVED IT!!!!!!  After the movie I went to meet one of my besties who's living out of the country and was visiting for a few days.  My original plan was to go to the beach and do outdoor stuff, but the weather was horrible.

Let It Air Dry

It doesn't matter if you have straight, wavy or curly hair, it's summer and it looks hotter air dry.  Not only because it saves you time and let your arms rest from the blower and flat iron, but it lets your natural hair show.  Some people may think it's a low maintenance look, but if you know how to use it, it'll look totally fashion and bohemian.

WAYS TO USE AIR DRY:

 1. The Little Braid
Most of my Fridays are "Air Dry/Braid Day".  The night before I just wash it, apply an anti-frizz and leave it alone.  On Friday morning I apply a VERY LITTLE amount of mousse (make sure it looks like you don't have any mousse at all), and do a little braid on the front/left side.

My Friday look:

2. The Hippie

3. The Messy Ponytail

Air Dry Rules
- Never make a pony tale with wet hair.
- Don't go to bed with wet hair, it will be a big mess.
 - Don't play with it cause it could get frizzy.
- Use soft makeup like nude lips, rose blush & light shade.
