The Wella Experience: LuxeOil Collection

About a month ago I started using the LuxeOil Collection from Wella Professionals. This line includes a Keratin Protect Shampoo, Keratin Restore Mask, Keratin Boost Leave In Conditioner, Reconstructive Elixir and Light Oil Spray (which I only use for special occasions). So many stuff, didn't your hair got greasy? Nope, not at all! Each product is so light and gets very deep in your hair strands.

Suddenly, I found out that styling my hair was so easy and the result was so silk, I had no problem flat ironing or doing a wavy look every morning. My hair started to look effortless beautiful and that's why people began to ask: Have you done something different to your hair? It looks so healthy.

Today I'm sharing some photos of my hair-do for one of my best friend's wedding. I also used the Professional Sebastian Shaper Plus, by Christian Siriano, to keep those waves from falling flat during the night.

Lowlights/ombre-ish

Hello fashion nation!

First of all, for those who don't know, I have a serious addiction to Pinterest.
So if you have an account, follow me [ here ]!

I saw this hairstyle on Pinterest when summer started. In that exact moment, I made the decision of trying this on my hair immediately! Actually, it wasn't until last weekend that I actually did something similar... myself. I guess that when it comes to hair, I'm a risk taker and even when I'm a little afraid of changes, hair makeovers are something that always excites me.

Remember when I did my ombre last year? [ Here ].
Well, this time I wanted to do blonder lowlights, with ombre at the ends. That's why I bought the L'ORÉAL Paris Féria Wild Ombre 080, instead of the one I did the last time: 060

I loved the result, but it's normal to have some damage in those bleached areas. I did the coconut oil treatment next day, soaking my hair with it and letting it work for 2-4 hours. If you wash your hair in the mornings, you can put on a shower cap and let sleep through the night for a better result. Here's my final look on Instagram:

My hair looks healthy and shiny now.
What's next? More low/highlights, even lighter.
I'll keep you posted!

Have a lovely weekend!

Teresa

Review: Pantene Damage Detox & Deep Cleanse

Hey there!

Your hair does not enjoy your summer adventures as much as you do. Pool, sun and salty water added to the daily toxins everywhere, can cause a lot of damage to one of the most precious and notable parts of your body.

This time I'm reviewing a product I talked to you about some weeks ago [ post here ]. I've been using it for more than a month and have already seen the results.

Deep Cleanse Shampoo and Conditioner:

At first I thought it was making my hair look dull and wanted to go back to the one I tried before, but as I kept using it day by day, I discovered the damage repair was a long-term process. I noticed it was regaining strength and was definitely starting to look healthier and stronger. It felt like giving my hair a boost of proteins and vitamins with each wash.

Weekly Deep Cleanse Shampoo:

Pros, pros and more pros! This shampoo makes my hair feel so weightless and deeply clean... totally/absolutely clean. So fresh you'll wanna wash it every day, even though you can't, because this one is made to use once a week.

Weekly Rehab Cream:

I guess the Weekly Deep Cleanse Shampoo works so roughly on your hair, you have to use this intensive conditioner treatment so you don't lose shine. It's the perfect combination with the weekly shampoo!

You can take a look at my actual hair in [ this post ].

Are you ready to detox your hair this summer?

Teresa

Review: L'OREAL Ombre

Approximately two weeks ago I made a post about the possibility of buying and trying the Les Ombrés by L'OREAL Preference.  I got news: IT'S FINALLY DONE!  I tried to wait until the end of month, but just couldn't. Here's the review:

Pros
1. Everything you need is inside the box.
2. The little brush makes it easy to apply.
3. You can do it by yourself, no help needed.
4. The results are very similar to the one showed in the box
(it all depends on your hair color base).
5. The shampoo-conditioner inside the box it's perfect for your damaged hair.

Cons:
1. Strong smell.
2. The instructions are not very clear.
3. Sometimes the substance gets stuck in the finest part of the lid.

To be honest, this wasn't the color I was looking for, but since my base color is dark mahogany brown, it turned out ginger-ish.  At first I was a little disappointed, but since the mixture has bleach, the color is getting lighter and blonder every time I wash it.  I have to say that this product really works, it's easy to use (once you really get the complicated instructions) and leaves your hair looking healthy and shiny (unlike other bleach products).

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Home-made "ombre"?!

Hi guys!!!

About a year ago I read the word "ombre" in fashion magazines for the first time. They used it for pants, tops, nails and even hair!  That's when I started my research to discover it's meaning was just combining two colors and making them look like they are both melting together in the middleThe first ombre thing I had was a pair of tights (see below), melting together blue with gray.

My new curiosity is trying the ombre trend on my hair.  I think this is a very scary/risky/daring adventure, but I'm suddenly tired and bored of my hairstyle.   As many of you know, I've been using a dark-reddish brown color in my hair for months and I need a change.  L'oreal launched the new: Les Ombrés by Préférence (see below).  I've been thinking about buying the Ombré N.1, which is the darkest one.

My hair is short/medium right now,
so the final look I'm expecting is something like this one:

I have mixed feelings, since I'm so excited and terrified at the same time.  My plans are to wear this look for summer, so I'll put this plan in action by the end of May and, of course, will make a post about my experience.

Would you try this home-made ombre
or would you prefer the help of an expert?

Have an awesome weekend!

Teresa

Summer-ish Hairstyles

Last summer I wore a lot of air-dry-long-hair and a little braid on one side.  This summer, since my hair is chopped to my shoulders and have new bangs, I've been wearing a high bun the whole time.  It is a very appropriate look, since the heat is pretty high and it looks elegant or casual, doesn't matter the occasion.  I want to share some hairstyles that are summer-proved and will make you look casual and stylish at the same time.  I do highly recommend to try the bangs because now that I have mine, I could not live without them.  Bangs makes the job so much easier and they make your face look softer and framed.

1. The high bun
[My signature look this summer]
You can try between the completely clean one or the messy one. You will free and fresh.
With so many outdoor activities, you won't have to keep your hair "under control".

Me with the look:

2. Beach waves.
If you have natural waves, lucky you!  Just leave them air dry and put some anti-frizz on.
If you have straight hair, try the three-barrel curler (will show you a video-tutorial soon).
[ images sourse: Google Images ]

3. Fishtail braid.
Day or night.  This will look great in any moment.
Plus the boho-look is so in right now.
[ above: me making the braid to a model / below: the result ]

4. The bandana.
You can chose between the handkerchief or simply the bandeau headband.
Wear it with any of hairstyles #1, #2 or #3.
[ above: a friend of mine with the handkerchief /

Hope you all have an amazing weekend!
My plans are to spend it by the pool,
under the sun and inside a bikini.

Teresa

Hollywood Waves

This post was waiting in my drafts for several days... I forgot about it!  Last month one of my best friends [ Yanie ] asked me to do something different to her hair for a wedding she was attending.  Of course I said YES, time to get creative... wink!  More than a year ago I purchased a curling iron to do the soft-wavy style to my hair... NEVER DID.  I did the Hollywood hair to Yanie and realized how cute and glamorous it could look to me!  Maybe when my hair grows long again, I'll try it.  Here are some pictures of the results.

Once you go short, you never go back...

At least that's how I feel right now about my new haircut.  I used to feel my long hair owned me, now I feel I'm the one that owns my hair.  It's made for me, for my face shape, for my high and it gives me identity.  I think that says all about how I feel about it... free, stylish, ME.

Do you own your haircut?  Have you been thinking for a long time to do a new look, but haven't feel courage enough to do it?  Well, I only have two words for you... DO IT!  You won't regret and if so, hair is always growing.  They did the exact same haircut I asked for: this one.

Pros:
1) Fun  2)Easier to take care of  3)Looks healthy  4)Matches my face type

Cons:
1) Can't do my boho-side-braid anymore or let it air-dry.
2) To not feel girly enough with some clothing.

Haircut Dilemma

There are three things that I consider self-body mutilation: tattoos, piercings and haircuts.  That's why I am so doubtful and always think a lot about it before doing any one of them.  I only have one little tattoo, used to have the belly piercing and I have done significant hair-cuts only twice in my whole life.

Most of my life I had long hair, but #2 in my new year's resolution list is changing my look.  About four years ago I chopped my hair to the shoulders and I cried for three consecutive nights.  Then I realized how easy it was to take care of it and I even looked older, which is really hard for me because I'm short and have kind of a little girl face.

What do you think?
Do you prefer long hair or short hair?

Review: New Hair Treatments

Well well... it's been a LONG time since I don't make a review.  Here's a new one!  You know I'm married to Fructis, especially the Pure Clean Shampoo and Conditioner [ see review here ].  But the bottle was empty, so I went to the drugstore to buy Fructis Sleek & Shine Shampoo.  I wanted to buy the conditioner too, but it was not available, so I decided to try a new hair mask.
Here we go . . .

Pros:
smells as good as any Fructis product
really works for frizzy hair
it actually made my hair look sleeker after letting it hair-dry

Cons
hair gets greasy easier [ may be too much moisture ]
as any other Fructis bottle, not easy to open

First of all, I don't know if this product is available in your country,
but I'm still gonna let you know the review... just in case.

This mask contains Keratin.  What is Keratin? Keratin is a natural protein found in hair, nails and skin.  As we get older, we start losing it and lack of Keratin makes hair look dry and brittle.

Pros:
soft/attractive texture
it's a repairing mask, so it leaves hair really moisturized
excellent after dying your hair
lasts a lot, since it comes in a really BIG bowl

Cons:
doesn't smell bad, but doesn't smell good either [ weird smell ]
i've tried better masks like Neutrogena

Boho-Chic

I'm sure you already know that my style is bohemian/natural/vintage/simple and my current addiction is the little side braid on my hair.  Remember [ this ] post?  Well, I haven't used the blower or flat iron to go out for a long time and I feel totally fresh and confident with my natural hair.  Adding the little braid feels like I'm paying attention to my hair, even when I really don't.

I saw Friends with Benefits this weekend and I LOVED IT!!!!!!  After the movie I went to meet one of my besties who's living out of the country and was visiting for a few days.  My original plan was to go to the beach and do outdoor stuff, but the weather was horrible.
