Little White Dress

¡Hola!

How important it is to have in your closet the famous "little black dress"? Yes, it is so elegant, classy and easy to wear! But let's be honest, who wants to wear black on summer? What about having a "little white dress"? It'll accentuate your sun-kissed skin and will build a better look to visit the pool-side area.

A white dress could be a risky piece, since it's a revealing color and may be see-trough. This [ Gatsby ] dress has the perfect shape, fabric and texture to achieve that sexy, but chic look to your girl's day/night out. When styling a black dress you need to pay attention to some details in the combination. The same happens with a white one. You don't want to look blah, so you need to add some color to your lips or/and accessories. Here's how I mix my colors:

From New York to Puerto Rico: New line of shoes arrives

[ to read in any other language,

Classic shoes for the summertime

In the modern world fashions change very quickly and styles come and go extremely rapidly. It feels like you buy one item and it’s out of fashion by the time you get it home. On the other hand, footwear seems to be more resilient to the changing fashion tides with many styles remaining, stylish and iconic throughout the decades.

Here’s a run down of summer shoes that have stood the test of time and trodden the fashion path decade after decade:

Flip flops
Those in the know are well aware of just how cool and versatile a pair of flip flops can be. Wear them at the beach, around town or to the hippest cocktail bar in town. They’re perfect for those who like the freedom of something that’s both comfortable to walk in and great for turning heads when paired with a miniskirt, a maxi dress or a pair of hot pants. If there’s one essential piece of footwear to sum up summer style, flip flops would be it.

Wedge heels
For a look that’s edgy, modern, and classic go for a pair of wedge heels. Glamorous whatever the occasion, they look great with anything from long dresses to skinny jeans. There are several styles available, from floral patterns to blue plastic and traditional leather, you’re sure to find something that’s a welcome addition to your wardrobe and able to turn even your most worn outfits into something that feels fresh and new.
Ballet shoes
Ballet shoes and plimsolls have remained a firm fixture with fashion houses for the last five years. They are great for dressing down an evening outfit for the daytime.

Ballet shoes are equally good at putting the finishing touches to an outfit that feels like it needs spicing up. The best thing about ballet shoes is that they’re inexpensive, meaning that you can purchase a few different pairs and experiment with a variety of colours.

Mules
Mules have experienced something of a renaissance in the last few years. Often overlooked, a pair of mules can switch a daytime dress into party mode in no time at all. With clean lines and elegant styling, mules can help you get a classic French Riviera look in an instant.

Snake Bite

My recent craving is a pair of snake-skin shoes (not real skin of course, I'm pro-animals).  I think they are so chic and especially... fierce!  I was surfing one of my favorite pages to shop online: Gojane.com.  They just have such great deals, moderate shipping costs and good quality pieces.  Never had a problem with anything and if something doesn't fit me, I can send it back.  They are also so friendly and personal with their customers.  I found some pairs of "snake skin" shoes and now I can't decide for one.  This is one of those times when I ask for my readers opinion and help before I make the mistake of buying all of them!

So, dear reader, which one is your fave?
The strap-ish first pair, the wedges or the slingback pumps?

Outfit: FALLing Tribal

So there's nothing summer-ish about this look cause I think the outfit itself says: FALL.  It is very strange to see me wearing my hair up and a maxi skirt, but I felt so different and vintage. It is very inspiring to realize how fun it is to try new looks and not look the same all the time.  Still, my style is more hair down with a little braid, a mini-skirt and an over-sized loose blouse, but this look was comfy and sophisticated too!  Also, I'm wearing some of my faves: my tribal top and VS shoes.  If you notice my hair a little more red-ish, well I dyed it on Friday and I'm loving the color!

A Shoe Story

Approximately a year ago I saw [ these babies ] for the first time, they were from the exclusive Victoria's Secret's shoe designer Colin  Stuart and the price was $85 by then. I said to myself: "Hmm maybe next time, but these are gor-ge-ous!".  I entered again a few weeks later, to buy other stuff and there they were again, like $10 less than the first time.  I said: "Hmm next time for sure".  The same line repeated for two or three more times, until one day I received the catalog and saw them at $39!!!!  So I thought: "This is it!".  I went online and did the checkout to discover I had a 20% off the entire purchase, God I love VS!

They arrived home last Friday!  I'm rushing to show you some pictures, since I can't wear them this weekend cause it's so rainy.  An outfit wearing them coming soon!

 i'm in love..

Chunky/Retro Shoes

Yesterday I went to have sushi with my mom and my boyfriend and ended the night at what we call in my country: The Culinary Fest. There we had food, of course, music and cocktails on the streets of Condado, San Juan.  What really caught the attention of me and my mother was that all fashion boutiques near the event were open 'til late at night!

I was wearing my new shoes from ShoeDazzle named Eugenie.  They were so comfortable and cute.  I'm sharing my outfit, which was very simple and fresh, cause it's so hot here and also showing off my new hand-made bracelets, I'm currently addicted to hand-made jewelry!  These pictures were taken before going out...

Shoe Craving Attack

I'm the type of girl who realizes that needs to go shopping when is getting dressed in the morning and finds herself in a middle of a crisis when she can't combine the right pieces.  For example: this morning.  Today I'm wearing a black blouse with creme pants and... red shoes?  Yup.  I couldn't find any other pair to wear today.  On my way to work, I realized I need new work shoes.   This pair needs to have a neutral color, so it can be combined with ANY outfit. That would make my mornings way easier!

So, I decided to enter my favorite shoe site: ShoeDazzle.  It's weird to say that days ago I entered and didn't liked any of the shoes on my list.  Today I fell in love with every single one of them.  Us girls are weird, right?  Or is this only a shoe craving attack?
These are my cravings right now:

Can this get any more neutral?  I mean, creme matches anything and nude colors are trend-ish!  Plus the shape of this pair is so unique and cute, even though I'm looking for a fatter heel, this is a great option.

COMFY.  That was the first word that came to my mind when I saw this pair.  BUT, they are not that neutral.  I also could use these shoes to go shopping or a casual date.

Now I'm having a dilemma.  Which one should I choose???

Ps. Don't forget about my little/easy to enter giveaway!
Winner will be announced tonight, so hurry up!
