Feeling Sunday

Hi readers!

My Sundays are for waking up late, relax and do whatever I want. I like to dress comfortable and feel like the day itself: free. If I don't hit the beach, I'll probably prepare a homemade brunch and then take a walk around town or maybe visit someone. This outfit, from Gatsby, feels so lose and carefree I could do yoga with it. Also, the spaghetti sleeves are perfect for the high temperatures of summer.  Sounds convenient, doesn't it?

This past weekend I realized how many amazing museums I've visited around the world, but still haven't been to one in my country. Can you believe that? I didn't made an entrance, but passed in front of the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico and promised myself to take a look inside pretty soon! In this occasion, I was in the mood to keep walking and go for a little home-deco/Father's Day shopping. Yeah... It was that kind of Sunday and I loved it!

RUSH days are FUN days

Hi readers! How was your weekend?

It was a hot one here in Puerto Rico!
Perfect to go for a walk outside, after a short yoga session, a brunch and a cup of coffee... a big one.

My favorite day of the week is Saturday, but they are usually spent solving many personal things and then going out with friends at night. Saturday = RUSH day. That means that choosing an outfit to go out on a Saturday noon needs to be comfortable.

Can I wear a pair of shorts and sheer top without looking like I'm about to hit the beach? Of course!
Here's how I style the casual-chic look!

Fashion Night Out

Hi!  Back from hell.
I just handed my thesis draft today.
That means I'm free for now and ready to post as usual... missed you all!

Last Thursday  I was invited to a fashion show at El Convento Hotel, Old San Juan.  I never had the opportunity to go inside this hotel and is so beautiful, you just get the boho/tropical vibe of the island.  I couldn't watch the whole show cause it started late and I had work really early next day.  It was a 4-local-designers event and I only got to watch one of them.  The main color of the line was beige and it was all about neutrals and copper-ish materials.  Here are some low-battery-non-fixed-camera pictures, sorry about the low quality.

Review: New Beauty Acquisitions

The main reason to go shopping yesterday was to redeem my Victoria's Secret exclusive member  coupons: 1 free thing and $10 off any bra.  The story ended up differently as I made the mistake of walking inside Sephora.  I mean, it wasn't a whim at all cause I really needed a new blush and a face wash.  I was thinking of getting a pink-ish blush instead of the bronzer I've been using for like five years.  I also wanted to try new and bizarre brands, so I think there was no better place I rather be than Sephora, right?.  I couldn't wait to try any of these stuff, so here's the review...

Too Faced Full Bloom Ultra Flush Powder Blush (Cocoa Rose)
Pros: vintage and cute package / easy to apply / intense color / easy to carry in your purse
Cons: too small for $19 / not so easy to open / doesn't bring any brush

Soap & Glory Face Soap with Superfruit Plum
Pros: big bottle / only $16 / refreshing smell / small dots that feel so good and kind of massage your face / perfectly clean sensation
Cons: none for now.

How was the weekend?

Meet My Country: San Juan, P.R.

Today I'm sharing the casual date I had with my boyfriend last Sunday at our capital: San Juan, Puerto Rico.  The area we visited is known as Old San Juan, it's a touristic area where cruises make port.  It is full of restaurants, resorts and interesting places like the Catedral of San Juan Bautista, El MorroEl Paseo de la Princesa and many more.  We arrived approximately at 3:00 p.m. and hanged around for a while, had dinner and then watched a beautiful sunset.

It is so hot right now... that's why I look messy in some of the pictures.  Sometimes I imagine how Old San Juan would look covered with snow (we don't have snow here, not even cold weather).  By learning a little about my country, you'll get to know me a little more.  Hope you enjoy the new series: Meet My Country!

Top & oxfords: Go Jane

Ps. I want to apologize for the lack of posts lately.
I've been so overwhelmed with my thesis, work and other stuff.

Pinky Promise

Last Saturday I had a Laguna Beach marathon by myself, via Netflix.  At night we went to a concert in tribute to Bob Marley's birthday.  A roofless concert under heavy rain.  My boyfriend and I ended up soaking wet, but it was worth the good vibe & music.  On Sunday I went shopping with my mom, had sushi and ended the day at the movies watching The Woman In Black.  If you get scared easily, don't watch it.  Now I need to get on track with my thesis, cause I'm handing out a draft on February 26.  I'll start this week... pinky promise!

Talking about pink, even though I don't like to wear this color, I wore pink stuff all weekend, including my new plaid top and the pink lipstick I mentioned last Friday.

Once you go short, you never go back...

At least that's how I feel right now about my new haircut.  I used to feel my long hair owned me, now I feel I'm the one that owns my hair.  It's made for me, for my face shape, for my high and it gives me identity.  I think that says all about how I feel about it... free, stylish, ME.

Do you own your haircut?  Have you been thinking for a long time to do a new look, but haven't feel courage enough to do it?  Well, I only have two words for you... DO IT!  You won't regret and if so, hair is always growing.  They did the exact same haircut I asked for: this one.

Pros:
1) Fun  2)Easier to take care of  3)Looks healthy  4)Matches my face type

Cons:
1) Can't do my boho-side-braid anymore or let it air-dry.
2) To not feel girly enough with some clothing.
 Top: Forever 21
Sunglasses: Express

And... finally got my sun-tan this weekend!

How was your weekend?!

NYC: Day 3

This was the last day from the trip and it was spent hanging around the World Trade Center Memorial and Wall Street.  We had the opportunity to see the strike area for the Occupy Wall Street.  People from all ages were camping there and it was really impressing and interesting!

There's really nothing special about the outfit, that day I just wanted to feel comfortable and simple (not to mention the hangover from the night before).  I  wore a stripy long sleeve top from Zara with my fave jeans cause the day was going to be really long having a flight at 11:00 pm back to Puerto Rico.
